By moving the roller in straight lines (not along with the groove of the record thus) with little pressure over the surface of a gramophone record, dust and dirt are not just displaced, but stick to the roll. When the roll is dirty, it can be cleaned quickly and easily in soapy water under the tap. Then dry the roll again and it is just as sticky as before. Endless to use!
