Cork / EVA Turntable Mat

This turntable mat from our own import is made of mixed materials in two layers (cork and EVA) and has a more than excellent price-quality ratio! The 1.5 mm. thick lower wear-resistant EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) foam layer ensures an optimal connection of the mat with the turntable platform. The 1.5 mm. thick top layer of real cork has a deepened centre tray for a perfect connection of record and record label with the mat and is provided with 8 holes. The holes provide even further improved damping. Result: less vibration and an audible deepening of the sound image. Yet our cork /EVA mat is extremely lightweight: only 40 grams.
The use of a turntable mat certainly enhances the colour of the sound of a turntable, but you should bear in mind that the stylus pressure and the traction of the stylus can be influenced by the use of any turntable mat.
If you are going to use a new turntable mat, we recommend that you check the stylus pressure and traction. Use a setting template for this (free to download from the internet) or a protractor and possibly a stylus pressure gauge.
